The famous history of the free royal town of Trnava livens up thanks to our experienced guides and their catchy narrative. They reveal you a plenty of stories and curiosities and take you to the places where a busy town life has ruled. A guide in a period costume of a burgher guides you through the town. If you feel like renting a historical costume and enjoy the town tour in clothes like from Middle Ages, you can do so in the Tourist Information Centre.

Old Town tour
During the "Old Town" tour you discover the magic of the most beautiful sacral sights in Trnava that fascinate you with their grandness and rich interior decoration. You can see the unique whole wooden altar in the Cathedral of St.  John the Baptist which belongs to the largest and most beautiful altars of its kind in Europe. You can also visit the baroque chapel next to St. Nicolas Basilica secreting a gracious painting of the Trnava patroness Virgin Mary. Our guides reveal the famous history of Trnava, the first free royal town.

Little Rome & Wine tour
The special tour "Little Rome & Wine“ reveals the important history of viticulture in the region. Trnava was the most important trade town with wine in medieval Hungary. The tour brings you to the oldest sacral sights in town, but mainly to the underground of ancient Trnava where the best wine was maturing in oak barrels. The catchy guidance includes a degustation of regional wines.

Town Tower climb
You have a unique view of town during the visit of the Town Tower that should have helped to protect the town as a lookout tower in the past. It is nearly 60 metres high and you have to go up 143 stairs to reach the lookout terrace. You are faced with a perfect view of the whole town, flat land and mountains Malé Karpaty. The original moon with a star at the top of the tower was replaced by a statue of Virgin Mary - Immaculata that has never leaned her back to Trnava. Her face from the front side and from behind symbolizes it. The tower secrets a unique mechanic clock machine inside. You can hear its most beautiful and longest bell at 12 o'clock. A permanent exposition devoted to older and also younger history of Trnava, the Town Tower and important influencers forms an integral part of the Town Tower tour.

The tours "Little Rome & Wine" and "Old Town" are possible in Slovak, English, German, French and Hungarian language and they can take 1 or 2 hours. The tours are limited up to 30 persons in one group. You can visit the Town Tower in regular intervals, each hour within the opening hours of Tourist Information Centre located on the ground floor of the tower.
